Climate action begins when communities recognize that the environment is not outside their lives, but part of their everyday future.
This World Environment Day 2026, under the global call to act #NowForClimate, Agragati India came together with 78 women, a local leader, and 52 school students across Pundi, Bhutahi in Ramgarh district to take local action for a safer and more resilient environment.
“पेड़ लगाओ, पर्यावरण बचाओ। जितने पेड़, उतनी साँसें।“
Through an environmental awareness rally, a drawing competition on a save environment theme, a panel discussion on the impact of climate change, and a plantation through seed ball, the community took collective steps towards increasing green cover, reducing plastic pollution, protecting soil and water, improving waste management, restoring local ecology, increasing organic farming and increase of renewable energy.
Together, the activity resulted in:
150 seed balls prepared of Chironji, Sal, Karanj, Tamarind (Imli), Kusum, Mahua, and Kend. 130 people, including 78 women and 52 children, were reached through awareness activities on environmental awareness rally, drawing competition, and plantation activity.
Villagers took an environmental pledge to protect and preserve the biodiversity and local environment.
These numbers represent more than activity output. They reflect growing community awareness, local ownership, and everyday environmental responsibility. Every seed ball made, every sapling planted, and preservation of local ecology are steps towards stronger climate resilience.
We continue to believe that meaningful climate action grows from communities themselves. When people come together to act locally, they contribute to a larger global movement for climate and environmental justice.
